Mr. Shevrin joined SoftBank Capital in 2004 and brings 30 years of experience in the software and computer business. He offers a unique mix of technical and management backgrounds and has worked for both large companies and several start-ups. In his career, Mr. Shevrin has run both services and product groups. He has been a key member of industry bodies and presenter at numerous conferences, an executive of one of the ten largest software companies, run large distributed organizations, but has also raised venture capital to start new companies.
On the technical side, Mr. Shevrin has always been on the leading edge of technology and his work has spanned all levels of systems and software. He has been the lead architect of a computer company, one of the earliest UNIX developers, pioneered distributed systems and operating systems, systems management, content management and collaboration tools and systems.
Mr. Shevrin is also currently actively engaged in several strategic projects with SoftBank Corp. in support of the company's initiatives in the Japanese broadband market.
